I like it, was it created for something specific in mind or just to have in the portfolio for talent showcasing?

It's just for my portfolio because I want to show it to.. let's say for instance.. publishers of children's books and all that.

I hope you get the chance. The shading techniques remind me of Maurice Sendak's work on "Where the Wild Things Are". But the drawing style is definitely yours. I love the look of the penguin. I always like to look over your works that you put on DA. Thank you for sharing that small piece of yourself with us. :)

Oh but I share huge pieces of myself with you :D Did you know almost (almost!) every HollyDay is based on my real life? ;)

How can I see all the HollyDays you did? I am a deviant (not a DA-deviant...), but I'm bad at DA-searching

www.hollycomics.livejournal.com :)

You can browse through the archive to find the first one (made that a bit more than a year ago) and simply used the Next Post arrowsies for the next one.

I have been reading the HollyDays since the start of the "Niche and the Little Black Book" saga. But many artists get sensitive about their more serious works and don't like to show them to people because they don't think they are "good enough".

Very nice. I really like the subdued colour palette, which can be very hard with watercolours I know.

What should I say...
It looks wonderful, and since I can't reasonably discuss shading or coloring as I'm a non-artist, that's it...
