Looks like i'm in trouble...
Two years ago I started working at gardencenter Bos. Half a year later they lengthened my contract for 1 and a half more years. Or so I thought... Just now my boss called me on the phone saying i've "quit" half a year too early. o_O

We both thought my contract was at an end. He told me (after I asked him) that it would not be lengthened. So I signed up to the CWI (Center for Work and Income) telling them I was going to be jobless. They will help me find a new job and make sure I get payed a little while i'm searching for it.

So basically my boss says that I got two half-year contracts, and THEN my one-and-a-half-year one. Meaning it looks like i've quit voluntarily. Meaning I don't have the right to any money from the CWI. He also admits he should have double checked the duration of my contract before "letting me go". I have looked everywhere but I really don't have any papers in my house that prove all this, but he says _he_ has them.

This is all very complicated, I don't even know how to explain it all to you guys :( And what sucks ass is that I can't ask parental advice because I have NO clue where the Hell they are this time! And mum's damn mobile phone keeps ringing too. *Snarl* If she actually carried it with her, I might have been able to contact her.

How annoying!

Dude... what an idiot.
Keep on looking for something girl! Hopefully you find something nice and then you might just be able to give both your ex-boss and the CWI the finger... :/

If you can't find your copy of the contracts you will have to go to your (former) boss and ask to see his copies. And run off a new copy for you, he must have a copier or a fax machine with which you can do that. Then you can read them at your leisure to see what they say exactly.

How were you "let go"? Only by word of mouth or did you sign papers? Did your boss already tell the CWI that you "quit"? If your boss admits he made a mistake he might be willing to help you, since it might be a bit over the top for him to send you away without you having the possibility to claim jobless benefit money from the CWI, I don't expect he dislikes you that much.

Go back to your boss and ask for copies of the papers. Also ask him if he can change the letting you go form he has to fill in so that it says that he fired you instead of that you quit before the end of your term. If it says he fired you, you can claim money. He might want to do that to make good on his mistake. It can't be the first time such a form is filled out wrong, so there must be a procedure to change a letting go filing.

Good luck!

If I quit, I don't get any money from anyone o_O The only thing I can do I think is to quickly try to find another job...

I hope things work out well for you quickly. Will this effect your trip later this month?

Just thought of something else. In some states here in the US if you quit a job for reasons of health (parrot disease, your tulip bulb allergy, etc.) you are still entitled to unemployment pay even if you quit rather than got fired. Of course other states will tell you to go suck a lemon, but it is still worth checking out with the Holland CWI.

Yes, but officially she didn't quit because of that. Because if she did, then it would cost the company would have more.
Or at least I think that's how it is. Bureaucratic rules are confusing.

Well enjoy your trip, if you have time, the Tower of London is worth seeing. A lot of history of the country is in that complex. And as a bird lover you will get to see the ravens. (just don't try to feed them)

this is totaly idiocy. (I know I spelled that wrong.)

It really doesn't make sense why you would have two "hlaf year contracts and then one-and-a-half-year contract." Who the hell does that to people?

(Obviously I know gardencenter bros does but this is being mad for you.... >:p)

I really hope you get things worked out, keep looking. Look online for something that might help you... I have no idea where you could begin but this is all I can suggest right now.

*hugs*
