What do you think? :) I am going to try to sell it on the art market in august. The wingsies are made of real fluffness.

Ooo that looks very nice! I love the idea of three separate paintings making up a whole.

Hey, do you have a pen and paper preference? I don't have a paper preference, although I do like the thicker papers that have a bit of texture to them, but I am in love with Staedtler "pigment liner" pens. Love love love them. But I am always looking for recommendations because I am a pen and paper nerd!

BTW, I like the trio of paintings. The bit with the fish and the faux shark fin is funny (and cute)!

I very much enjoy working with indian ink :)

I always draw my comics with gel-pens, they are lovely.

And I love steadtler as well :) With the tiny little tube-tips, right? And Rotring if I remember the name correctly.

For paper I like mildly grained ones, with a tiny bit of texture :)

Do you use a fountain pen with the India ink? I'm crap with fountain pens. I've seen these Italian-glass dip-pens that are just a glass point, rather than the divided metal fountain pen nib. I wonder what they're like. I guess a brush would work with the india ink, too. I'd be better with a brush than any fountain pen I've tried..

I haven't found a gel pen that I liked using, but maybe I just haven't tried the right ones...

Ooh! Rotring! I have an old old old (like made in "W. Germany" old) mechanical pencil that's nice. I should see if one of the art supply shops around here carry those.
Yeah, the tiny tube-tips/felt tips! I tried a bunch of different ones out at the art store in PDX, but the Staedtler ones seemed the nicest of the ones I tried. And they didn't bleed too much. I have a nice fine-tipped permanent Sharpie marker, but it bleeds way too much!

Yeah markers bleed horribly, that is why they invented marker-paper. It's very smooth and bleedproof. But I like texture so I hardly use that.

And yep, the old fashioned fountainpen! It just requires some practise but you get the best results if you can control the pen :) Also, the trio-painting lines were made with indian ink and a brushie.

Do you have a specific kind of old fashioned fountain pen or nib that you prefer? My problem with fountain pens is that the lines break (I can't think of a better way to explain it -- it's like the ink cuts out for a bit) sometimes when I draw them. That said, when I write slowly, my fancy handwriting is best using fountain pens.

That and I get ink all over my fingers, but that's not so bad, it kind of looks cool.

You put too much ink on the pen and you press it too hard ;)

http://www.tilburg.com/upload/Nieuws_Afbeelding/kroontjespen.jpg <-- these are the tips I use, and a jarsie of ink. Always keep some toiletpaper handy, wipe the ink off frequently during drawing :)

Examples of stuff I made with this:

Cute, very cute. Interesting how you keep your characters 'clean' this time, it does wonders for the readability of the painting. Only be carefull not to get too flat.
